This design dates back to the late 6th century. Twin plates protect the cheeks from harm.The helm has a mask in the likes of a face and several decorative golden studs. The helmet flares out in the rear to increase mobility while still providing protection for the neck. This exceptional helm is skillfully crafted of carbon steel and adorned with brass accents.
